Those who’ve been asking for an evening writing class, take note: Starshine will teach “Travel Writing: Penning & Publishing Your Journeys” for six Monday evenings, 6 to 9 p.m. at UCSB, from Sept. 20-Oct. 25 through UCSB Extension.

Here’s the description:

Who hasn’t dreamed of being a travel writer — venturing to exotic locales and weaving the sights, sounds and smells into a compelling tale … ? But travel writing takes more than a ticket and a trusted Bic.

In this course, you’ll learn every aspect of journaling your journeys, from brainstorming angles and interviewing sources to crafting elegant prose and even selling your stories to magazines. Students will hear lectures, meet editors, analyze published articles and complete three writing assignments on local destinations.

And you will freakish amounts of fun.
